Matthew is a clinical psychologist who works with a range of clients and issues, from age 12 upward. He takes a compassionate, pragmatic, and evidence-based approach to treatment. During his Master of Clinical Psychology, Matthew’s research focused on treatment of anxiety, phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, and PTSD, and he also has expertise working with depression, anger, grief, insomnia, persistent pain, addiction, and personality disorder.
Prior to private practice, Matthew worked as a clinical psychologist in an acute mental health setting treating complex presentations. Matthew has extensive experience working alongside general practitioners and psychiatrists to provide coordinated care.
Matthew is a professional that listens, cares, and employs evidence-based treatments that respond to each client’s needs, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, schema therapy, and eye-movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR).
